Joomla! Install Part 2: Setting Up WAMP
Now that we have all the necessary downloads, now it's time to start the install. The first thing you want to do is unzip the Joomla program, remember when doing this it's best to unzip it to a file that is related to the program. The next thing on our list is to unzip copy over some files into the WAMP folder. The folder you will want to paste the files is in the www folder. Now it's time to rune WAMP.
Now WAMP is a little tricky and if you are not careful you will have to reinstall it over again. For those of you that are not familiar and even if you are, there are a few things that need to be set up in WAMP before you can begin to install Joomla. First is setting up the admin rites and passwords.
This is what the admin page looks like :

The only difference is that this one has already been set up. What you will need to do for yours is to click on add new user and create your administrator from there. You may be wondering why do this instead of setting the admin password under the root directory. I tried that and when I did it ended up screwing up my Joomla set up, so we do this to prevent that. If you look closely you will notice that I called mine admin, I did this so that I would not get it confused with the root, but feel free to call the user whatever you wish.
This is what you will see when entering a new user. This one is called admin and since this site is going on a local host we chose "Local" from the drop down menu on the host menu. We also have given it a password but if you are not sure what to use you can let phpMyAdmin choose for you.

Net we have to choose the database for the account. If you are starting a new set up, which is what we are doing you will want to click the second box.

Now we have to choose the Global privileges. For this you will want to click on "Check All". This way you are not restricting the admin account. As you get more and more users on the Joomla site you can pick and choose what user gets what rites but, for the purpose of this exercise the admin gets them all. As for the Resource limits we will leave those alone. The only thing to do next is to click on go and there you have it.

That should complete your WAMP install and setup. The next session we will begin the install and setup for the Joomla site.
